Bulgaria is a major holiday destination for the UK and Ireland. Every year the number of chartered flights from Ireland and the UK increase and this is due to a hike in popularity for Bulgarian holidays.

One of the main attractions for families and young people are the water parks in various locations throughout the black sea coast.

A popular waterpark located between Burgas airport  and Sunny Beach is the Aqua Paradise Nessebar. Aqua Paradise is seasonal and opens from May – September. In 2009 they extended  the perimeter making the total area of the park 46 000 square meters. There are over 40 attractions within the park including the children’s castle,  the lazy river and the butterfly swimming pool.  For the adrenaline junkies there are more daring attractions such as the diving boards and the tsunami slide. There is live entertainment on stage daily and there are food and drink condiments located throughout the park. The park is fully equipped with an electronic system which allows each person to store their cash on a water proof watch, this proves very beneficial for those wanting a drink from the swim up bar – they have the money to pay attached to their wrist!  

In 2016 there is a new water park opening called Sunset Resort Water Park. This water park is set to be one of the biggest in Bulgaria and is only a few minutes from the only Irish hotel in Sarafovo, Bulgaria.
