#1: Bulgaria is the most affordable winter destination in Europe

Bulgaria has been ranked as the cheapest ski destination in Europe. It has the lowest cost of living in Europe and is very different from the rich and famous ski resorts of France and Switzerland. You can get a double room in a nice hotel in any of the cities in Bulgaria for just 20 to 25 Euros a night. You can have dinner for two at a fancy restaurant for 10 Euros only.  You will certainly enjoy your vacation in Bulgaria this winter, and save a lot of money as well.

#2: Bulgaria some of the most beautiful natural sceneries

Bulgaria has a very diverse landscape and is dotted with many picturesque towns and villages. There is the vast Black Sea Coast in Bulgaria, and there are a number of magnificent mountains. Snowfall in Bulgaria is a particularly delightful sight.

#3: Bulgaria has many world class ski resorts

Bulgaria has a number of quality ski resorts such as Bansko, Pamporovo and Borovets. The country offers the best possible spa experience, as well as over 200 mineral springs, where temperatures range from 37 to 50 degree Celsius. This is the perfect way to spend your winter.

#4: There’s a big party in Bulgaria during the Holiday Season!

There’s nothing more fun than a Christmas and New Year’s Eve party on some of Bulgaria popular beach resorts such as Sunny Beach. It gets really crazy here, and the entire country is taken over by young people, who just want to have fun. There’s a lot of dancing, flirting, singing everywhere and beer flows freely. You will have never experienced anything quite like this!

#5: Bulgaria has very beautiful winter holiday customs

Winter holidays are big events in Bulgaria, where people still follow the ancient customs of “koleduvane” and “survakane”. According to a custom called “koledari”, groups of boys go from door to door and sing songs for prosperity, health and happiness and expect to be paid in coins, baked pretzels and other lovely treats.

“Survakane” is a custom that starts on the early morning of January 1. Groups of children go to their friends’ houses and use a beautifully decorated wooden stick called “survachka” to hit them very lightly on the back and say a special prayer wishing for their health and prosperity.  In return, they are given coins and treats.

Do visit Bulgaria this winter, you will love the experience and talk about it for years to come!
